Faneuil Hall Marketplace & Los Angeles Grand Central Market Wager on the World Series

The Boston Red Sox are battling the Los Angeles Dodgers in the quest to become World Series Champions and, off the field, chefs from the two cities are placing a bet to back their home team.

Chefs from the Quincy Market Food Colonnade have squared off with chefs from L.A.’s Grand Central Market to feed celebrating fans in whichever city is victorious. If the Dodgers win, the Faneuil Hall Marketplace chefs will travel to California with New England clam chowder and baked beans to feed the L.A. fans. When the Red Sox win, the Los Angeles chefs will arrive in Boston with celebratory SoCal tacos for the Boston fans.

Additionally, both markets have agreed to $1,000 charitable contributions for every home run their home team hits. Red Sox homers will benefit Pitching In For Kids, a nonprofit improving the lives of children in New England with sports-related fundraising and events. Dodgers homers will benefit Team Rubicon, a veteran service organization that uses disaster response to reintegrate veterans into civilian life.

The Boston Red Sox won the first game 8-4 on Tuesday night at Fenway Park. They’ll play the second game at home as well on Wednesday, before heading to L.A. for games three through five. Best of seven wins the Word Series!
