Fishermen’s Feast at Fleet, North & Lewis Streets. Fisherman’s Feast of the Madonna Del Soccorso di Sciacca began last night with the Blessing of the Fishing Waters at Christopher Columbus Park and continues throughout the weekend with the Grand Procession and Flight of the Angel on Sunday, see additional information here.

6:30AM Summer Fitness Series: Bootcamp. Stop by the Christopher Columbus Park for the Boston Summer Fitness Series. This morning’s class will be bootcamp in the park. See additional details and a full class schedule here.

1:00PM Friday Films: Million Dollar Mermaid. Join the Boston Public Library at 25 Parmenter Street for free movies on Fridays. Today’s movie will be Million Dollar Mermaid, see additional information here.

As the summer starts to come to an end, dozens of Boston kids celebrate six weeks of hard work as they complete a youth work program aimed at helping high-risk kids, read more on the Boston Herald.

Saturday, August 17

Fishermen’s Feast at Fleet, North & Lewis Streets. Fisherman’s Feast of the Madonna Del Soccorso di Sciacca begins at 6PM with the Blessing of the Fishing Waters at Christopher Columbus Park and continues throughout the weekend with the Grand Procession and Flight of the Angel on Sunday, see additional information here.

12:00PM Lawn Games. Stop by Christopher Columbus Park for Cornhole, giant Jenga and other lawn games that will be free and open to all.

1:00PM The Art of Spinning at the Paul Revere House. The art of spinning is best learned by the young, and Zoe Lawson has been practicing the craft of spinning by drop spindle and on a wheel since childhood, see additional details here.

3:00PM Best Meatball Contest at Fisherman’s Feast. The second annual meatball contest will be from 3 – 6pm at the 109th Fisherman’s Feast on Lewis Street at the Galbani cheese stage. Who will take home the prize for best meatball this year?! Stop by to find out.
