Local veterans visiting Memorials around Boston will stop at the Beirut Memorial in Christopher Columbus Park on Saturday, August 24 between 11:45 a.m. and 12:10 p.m.
The walk is organized by Irreverent Warriors, a non-profit organization whose mission is to bring veterans together using humor and camaraderie to improve mental health and prevent veteran suicide.
The group hikes in their combat boots and “silkies,” green physical training shorts made famous by the United States Marines. They will begin their walk in South Boston and end up near Fenway Park.
