Dryer Fire Evacuates North End Building; Resident Uses Historic Street Fire Box Alarm When 911 Fails
Residents of 94-96 Endicott Street were evacuated for a fire that broke out on the first floor on the morning of December 28. Boston Fire Department (BFD) was able to contain the fire to a clothes dryer thanks to a quick-thinking neighbor who smelled smoke and, because of the 911 outages, used the fire pull station box to alert BFD. Governor Baker Signs Short-Term Rentals Bill
Governor Baker signed a bill to tax and regulate short term rentals in Massachusetts on Friday, December 29. The North End’s own Rep. Aaron Michlewitz helped lead the negotiations to bring together the Mass. House, Senate and Governor’s Office. Read more details here.
