Midnight Fireworks on Boston Harbor Ring in a Soggy Start to 2019 [Video]

It was a soggy 2019 New Year’s fireworks display over Boston Harbor as pouring rain at midnight dampened the longstanding tradition. Still, the show went on with bursts of color emerging from a barge between Long Wharf and Fan Pier. And, there were plenty of hearty souls that came out to the waterfront to cheer the illuminated harbor and ring in the New Year. Popular viewing locations included Columbus Park in the North End, Fan Pier in the Seaport District, and from the East Boston Harborwalk/Piers Park.

The annual New Year’s Eve fireworks display over Boston Harbor is organized in partnership with the Friends of Christopher Columbus Park, the Wharf District Council, Boston Harbor Now and the City of Boston.
