Baker alone with optimism over AirBnB bill
Lawmakers in Massachusetts have been struggling to develop a system to tax and regulate short-term rentals through site like Airbnb. An agreement was struck during the final days of formal business in July, and Gov. Charlie Baker returned the bill with an amendment that still has not been taken up. Friday, December 7
Anniversary of Pearl Harbor Attack. The attack on Pearl Harbor by the Japanese was a surprise military strike against the United States naval base on the morning of December 7, 1941. The attack led to the United States’ entry into World War II. Over the next seven hours there were coordinated Japanese attacks on the U.S.-held Philippines, Guam and Wake Island and on the British Empire in Malaya, Singapore, and Hong Kong.

The 500th anniversary of the birth of Jacopo Tintoretto (1518-1594), one of the most formidable painters of Renaissance Italy, is the occasion of great celebrations in Europe and America.
