ABCD Center North End / West End Celebrates Father’s Day

The ABCD North End/West End Neighborhood Service Center (NE/WE NSC) chose a sunny warm Friday to celebrate Father’s Day and the roles that the dads we know-be those parents, grandparents, brothers, uncles, sons, or friends-play in our lives.   She identified the fathers among those in the room, and spoke about how fathers always help their children to face life’s difficulties.   She also called attention to the upstanding men who are sadly with us in spirit only.

After lunch, the special treat of the day was authentic African dancing, performed by Fatou, a lovely client wearing typical dress from her country and singing songs from her homeland to accompany her breathtaking performance.   Guests lingered long after dessert, so Courtney Johnson, West End Project Coordinator, put on music from the 90s and 2000s.   Then she played a few songs better known by the seniors! Everyone enjoyed it and there were a lot of laughs.

Would you like to join the fun? Please call the NE/WE NSC directly at 617-523-8125 to reserve your spot for future luncheons, which the NE/WE NSC will advertise in advance. New clients must sign up to obtain free membership with ABCD.
