Our St. John School 5th Graders went on a field trip to City Hall where they visited the City Hall Council Chambers. They met with City Councilor Sal LaMattina, who explained the duties of the City Council, talked about the upcoming election, the city charter, the city ordinances and the legislative branch of the city government.
The students were also treated to a tour of the city council offices where they were able to sit in the city council member’s chairs.
Our students would like to thank both City Councilor Sal LaMattina and Kathy Carangelo, Director of Constituent Services at City of Boston, for their time.
