The NEAA 21U Dodgers came out strong and have posted a 4-0 record to start the season. The Dodgers play in the Lou Tompkins All-Star Baseball league and are among the best teams in that league every season. This year appears to be no different as the pitching of Vincent Lopriore, Ryan Colbert and Patrick Murray have propelled the Dodgers into first place.
The three stars have combined to throw 28 innings while letting up 4 earned runs. In addition they have 41 strikeouts in those 28 innings and have let up a total of 20 hits. With the Dodgers getting such strong pitching big offensive outbursts have not yet been needed. Still the Dodgers are putting up their share of runs.
The Dodgers have scored 24 runs in the 4 games and have been led by Cam Douglas, Robert Pagliuca, Vincent LoPriore and NicoGennari. The four have combined for 10 runs scored and 8 RBI.
The Dodgers have also been very good on defense. Nick Crivello has been rock solid behind the plate calling great games and throwing out would be base stealers. Lorenzo Pantaleo continues to play gold glove defense in center field and the left side of the infield with JoeTansino and Nick Iudiciani has been impenetrable.
Under the leadership of 1st year head coach Michael Martignetti the Dodgers hope to keep improving their game and play better and better as the season wears on.
