Dozens of current and past neighborhood leaders attended the 30th Anniversary celebration of the North End / Waterfront Neighborhood Council (NEWNC) on November 6th at Filippo’s Ristorante in Boston’s North End. Special guest, former Boston Mayor Raymond Flynn, told many stories about how City Hall worked with the community in the “old days” and explained why he started the neighborhood councils during the mid-1980’s. NEWNC is one of two of the original councils, in addition to Charlestown, that continue to exist today in Boston. (Photos by Matt Conti)
