ABCD Foster Grandparents Program honors City Hall Child Care

Boston City Hall Child Care honored by ABCD Foster Grandparents!

Mayor Marty Walsh declared August 28 “Foster Grandparent Day” in Boston to mark the 50th anniversary of the national program. ABCD celebrated with awards to vital community partners and a social media campaign showcasing the honorees.

Nicci Meadow, ABCD Foster Grandparent Director, presented an award to Boston City Hall Child Care for their significant contributions to children, families and the FGP program. l-r, Foster Grandmothers Ramona Perez and Myrtle Jarrett; Annie Mathieson, Boston City Hall Child Care; Foster Grandmother Milagros Pimental; Yuk Yen Chin, Boston City Hall Child Care; and Nicci Meadow, ABCD Foster Grandparent Director. The national Foster Grandparent Program is considered America’s most heartwarming program, bringing low-income seniors together with children of special needs at child care centers, schools, hospitals and other community sites. There are 155 ABCD Foster Grandparents in Boston and Quincy.
