For the past two week-ends, Mayor Marty Walsh has continued the tradition of Boston Shines, a civic engagement initiative that sees contingents from every neighborhood take to the streets and do their share of spring cleaning. And in keeping with their commitment to be civically responsible youth, the members of the Nazzaro Center’s Youth Program manned the brooms, shovels, gloves and trash bags and became dirty street fighters for an afternoon, tidying up various parks in the North End, particularly the ones that they use the most, their very own Nazzaro playground and Langone Park, where most of them play their Little League games. Although most of the rest of the city mobilizes on a Saturday, the Nazzaro do it after school during their after school programming and below are some pictures from this past Friday.
