With May officially here, the spring blossom has brought numerous additions to the neighborhood, just in time for summer. With the addition of the new dog park in the North End, swinging benches set to be installed soon on the Greenway and the Echelman Sculpture rising up! Echelman Sculpture to Rise Sunday Over Greenway; Street Closures

Easily one of the most unique additions to the Greenway, the Janet Echelman Sculpture, will be rising up in the early morning hours of Sunday, May 3rd. Being supported by three surrounding buildings, the LED lit sculpture will hang 365 feet over the Greenway parks. View the details for the assembly on Sunday and read 10 facts about the sculpture.

“Taste of the North End” Draws Record Crowd to Support Local Charities

The annual charity event “Taste of the North End” has been held every year since 1993, but no crowd has ever been as large as the 2015 event that drew in loads of supporters and 40 North End restaurants and vendors. View the post on the event that is expected to produce over $100,000 for local non-profit organizations in the North End.

Dogs “Flea” the Streets, Head for New DeFilippo Dog Park

Neighborhood residents saw the upper “flights” in the Gassy regularly being misused as a spot for drug use and drinking. Not anymore, as of May 1st, 2015, the upper “flights” were officially opened as the pilot dog park that aims to provide a permanent dog park for neighborhood pets. Read the article for more on the formation, the preparation, and long process of making this vision come to fruition.
