Tis’ the season to celebrate our community with our neighbors and friends! The North End Music & Performing Arts Center (NEMPAC) invites you to join our family-friendly NEMPAC Community Choir this holiday season! The multi-generational choir will be directed by our very own music faculty member, Susan Davies. Ms. Davies is an established teacher and vocalist who earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Music from Ithaca College. She later worked in Germany for several years teaching early childhood music education, voice, and choral singing. We are excited to have on board to lead our community choir this year.
The NEMPAC Community Choir will meet once a week on Sunday’s from 5:00 p.m. to 5:50 p.m. Rehearsal will be held at the NEMPAC studio building located off the Prado. Rehearsals begin this weekend, on Sunday, November 9th! Children under the age of 8 must be accompanied by an adult in order to participate.
Ms. Davies will lead the NEMPAC Community Choir in 2-part holiday choral arrangements, rounds, and cannons. The rehearsals will enforce the use of healthy singing technique and posture, an introduction to note reading, and learning how to sing in a group. The choral group will build relationships with each other, the music, and with the community! More information on the chorus and this program is listed below. NEMPAC Holiday Community Choir!
When: Our Rehearsals will be on Sunday’s, Nov. 9th, 16th, 23rd, 30th from 5:00 p.m. – 5:50 p.m. with a Community Sing / Performance on Friday, December 5th at 6 p.m. to launch the North End Holiday Stroll! Participation and attendance at rehearsals is important for us to work together and learn our music in harmony. We hope you will come each week! Participation at the performance is not required. We are planning for our choir to continue in the Winter & Spring 2015!
