Tis’ the season to celebrate our community with our neighbors and friends! The North End Music & Performing Arts Center (NEMPAC) invites you to join our family-friendly NEMPAC Community Choir this holiday season! The multi-generational choir will be directed by our very own music faculty member, Susan Davies. Ms. Davies is an established teacher and vocalist who earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Music from Ithaca College. She later worked in Germany for several years teaching early childhood music education, voice, and choral singing. We are excited to have on board to lead our community choir this year.
The NEMPAC Community Choir will meet once a week on Sunday’s from 5:00 p.m. to 5:50 p.m. Rehearsal will be held at the NEMPAC studio building located off the Prado. Rehearsals begin this weekend, on Sunday, November 9th! Children under the age of 8 must be accompanied by an adult in order to participate.
Ms. Davies will lead the NEMPAC Community Choir in 2-part holiday choral arrangements, rounds, and cannons. The rehearsals will enforce the use of healthy singing technique and posture, an introduction to note reading, and learning how to sing in a group. The choral group will build relationships with each other, the music, and with the community! More information on the chorus and this program is listed below. We hope you will consider joining us this season!
