Here is a before and after photo update from City Hall on work recently completed in the North End by Public Works and the Parks Department. The Parks Department completed work last week on the flower beds around the Nazzaro Center and the shrubs at Polcari Playground.
The Department of Public Works filled in five additional tree pits in the North End this week. The tree pits were done to create safer sidewalk conditions. Shown above is Fleet Street. Other locations were Commercial at Prince, Commercial at Clark and 27 Charter Street. Although these tree pits were filled with concrete the City still plans to plant tree at those locations in the upcoming Fall or Spring planting seasons.
Landscaping work was recently completed at Charter Street Park.
The Italian flag wall at DeFilippo Park (the “Gassy”) was repainted.

I THINK ALL THESE IMPROVEMENTS IN THE NO. END ARE GREAT, BUT WHAT ARE WE DOING.
TO PROTECT OUR ELDERLY WHO ARE HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THEIR NEIGHBORS?

I AM TALKING ABOUT WILD PARTIES, URINATING OUTSIDE OF BUILDINGS AT 8 20 AT NITE,
NOT TO MENTION THE FIGHTS THAT ARE TAKING PLACE OUTSIDE OF VARIOUS RESTAURANTS.
IN THE NORTH END, DRUG ADDICTS ALL OVER THE STREETS & ON THE GASSY STEPS.
I AM TALKING ABOUT VERY SERIOUS PROBLEMS THAT ARE NOT BEING ADDRESSED AND.
HAVE NOT BEEN ADDRESSED FOR OVER 20 YEARS..
Cutos to the Mayors Office, on the improvments, now how about working on the Handicap Ramps and the loose bricks that slash the tires on our chairs.

THE CITY IS ON AN ALL TIME HIGH & THEY COULDN’T DO A BETTER JOB THAN THESE BLACK.

SIDEWALK. DO YOU KNOW HOW MANY HANDICAP WHEELCHAIR PEOPLE LOOK LIKE THEY.
ARE GOING TO FALL OF THE RAMP. AND JUST FOR THE RECORD, THERE WAS A RESTAURANT.
IN THE NO. END THAT WAS HANDICAPPED ACCESSIBLE & THEY PUT THE RESTROOMS DOWN.
THE BASEMENT, WHICH MEANS IT IS NO LONGER HANDICAP ACCESSIBLE. ASK YOURSELF
