Memorial Services will be announced at a later time for Dolores M. (Ventola) Paturzo, who died on Monday, December 9th, 2013 following a valiant battle with lung cancer at Massachusetts General Hospital of Boston, at 70 years.
Born & raised in Boston’s North End, she was an alumna of the former Julie Billiart Catholic Central High School of the North End, Class of 1961. At school, “Dee” was known as a champion swimmer. “Dee” left the North End over 50 years ago when she moved to Revere. She worked for the Revere Police Department as a call-taker & coordinator for over 18 years, retiring in 2005. She enjoyed cooking & baking for family & friends; loved knitting, crocheting & ceramics, & also taught an evening class for crafts at Revere High School.
“Dee” was the wife of the late, Thomas A. Paturzo, who died in November of 1997. She is the devoted mother of Tracey A. Paturzo & her boyfriend Michael Matarazzo of Revere. She is the cherished sister of: Angela Capone & her late husband Charles of Somerville, James Ventola & his wife Laurel Thorne of Ocala, Florida, Christine “Chris” Welch & her husband Allan Welch of Saugus, & Nicholas “Nick” Ventola & his wife Julie Ventola of Revere. She is also lovingly survived by many nieces & nephews. She was the daughter of the late, James & Lucy (Calococci) Ventola.
