Chef/owner Francesco Pellino, of Pellino’s Ristorante (2 Prince St.) with Buddy Valastro, owner and star of Cake Boss TV show on TLC

Bakery Boss filmed at Pellino’s Ristorante in Boston’s North End on Tuesday afternoon. The television episode is expected to appear in February / March of 2014 on TLC.

The reason they were at Pellino’s Ristorante at 2 Prince Street is that many years ago this was the home of Prince Street Bakery. Prince St. Bakery was one of the best bakeries in the city.

A granddaughter of the former owners, Dana, now owns a bakery in Bedford, Mass. called Prince St. Bakery and Café. The shoot at Pellino’s Ristorante will bring back some memories of how it all started for this young lady who opened in Bedford.

Bakery Boss is a spin-off of the Cake Boss franchise featuring Buddy Valastro from Hoboken, New Jersey. Buddy travels to a struggling bakery to help them reverse their fortunes. The series airs on TLC TV.
