92-96 Salem Street, The Wild Duck, Sal DiGirolamo (Manager), has applied to the Licensing Board to expand the All-Alcohol Beverages retail establishment into the basement, to increase storage capacity.

2 Mechanic Street, Frank DePasquale has purchased the restaurant formerly “Ida’s” and the buildings at 2 Mechanic Street and 11 Board Alley. Plans may include renovation of the existing residential buildings for short-term rentals. Application has been filed with the Licensing Board seeking to:
1) transfer Ida’s Malt and Wine pouring license to the new owner;
2) expand alcohol service to a proposed 48-seat seasonal outdoor dining area in the courtyard located between the buildings and the Sumner Tunnel. Closing hour of the patio will be 11:00 PM, 7 days. Closing hour for the indoor restaurant will remain at midnight, 7 days; and
3) add Cordials to the license.

124-126 Salem Street, Collin Yip, is seeking zoning relief to construct a 5-story building that will include nine residential units (condominiums) along with 4 parking spaces and retail store or restaurant on the first floor. The parcel has long been used as a surface parking lot for up to 13 vehicles.

Presentation by Normandy Real Estate Partners and Jones Lang LaSalle on their plan to construct and operate an 8-story, 180-room hotel with attached 1-story food related market on the undeveloped parcel adjacent to the Greenway’s North End Parks and bounded by Hanover Street, Blackstone Street, North Street and the Surface Artery. Normandy/LaSalle won the right to develop Parcel 9 from the owner of the property, Massachusetts Department of Transportation, earlier this year.
