Kicking off the first summer 2013 procession in Boston’s North End was the Societa Santa Maria di Anzano. The Italian religious procession was held on Sunday, June 2, 2013 starting at St. Leonard Church and continuing through the neighborhood streets to be honored by devotees. The procession coincided with the Festa Nazionale della Reppublica and the Santa Maria di Anzano statue was presented at the celebration in Christopher Columbus Park by Society President Elio LoRusso. Accompanying the procession of Santa Maria di Anzano was the traditional Italian marching music of the Italian-American Band.
