Mayor Menino will hold his annual neighborhood coffee hour in the North End on June 22, 2012 at 9:30 am. The event will be in conjunction with the opening of the newly renovated play area at “The Gassy” formally known as DeFilippo Playground at 135 Prince Street.

Mayor Tom Menino introduced Santa and the lighting of the tree to a crowd of kids who had gathered for the appearance. The trolley tour featured a host of singers, costumed characters and treats with guns of confetti. NEWRA’s Parks & Open Spaces Committee toured DeFilippo Park on April 10th to brainstorm ideas for improving the open space for residents.
