North End Teens Win “This is How We Roll” Bowling Tournament Sponsored By District A-1

On Monday December 12, 2011, the District A-1 CSO Office held the finals of the inaugural “This is how we roll” bowling tournament. The event was held at the Boston Bowl located on Morrissey Blvd. The teams consisted of four teens, two boys and two girls from three of District A-1’s communities, Charlestown, Chinatown and the North End. The event also featured a team made up of a group of Boston Police Officers that worked in the various communities the teens came from.

The winner of the event would receive a beautiful trophy recognizing them as the champs. Each bowler bowled one string of candlepins, the total pin fall of each team would determine the champion. The North End team lead by Justin Amoroso 84 was crowned the champs. The total pin fall of the North end team was 282. The Team from Chinatown came in second with a total pin fall of 266. And the team from Charlestown finished with a final score of 244. Even though the team from the Boston Police was not eligible for the trophy, they were lead by Officer Billy O’Sullivan 105 and a team total of 382. The group dined on pizza and cold drinks at the bowling alley’s restaurant after the competition.

The event was so successful that we plan on having it next year. We would also like to thank the Boston Bowl, Jeff MacLean, Sarah Coughlin, Ralph Amoroso and David Vo for making the event successful.
