The Friends of the Public Garden today launched an Instagram photo contest, to celebrate 50 years of caring for Boston’s historic three parks – the Public Garden, Boston Common, and Commonwealth Avenue Mall.
Nine (9) photos will be selected for use on flagpole banners surrounding the parks, beginning in August (visual guideline here). The Friends want to showcase all the things that make these parks great, including the natural beauty of trees and flowers; the people, festivals, and activities that bring life to the parks; and the rich history on display through statues and monuments.
The contest runs through June 15 and winners will be announced by June 25. A panel of judges will select winners based on representation of the three parks, visual impact, and composition.
