The USS Constitution will host its annual Christmas tree lighting on Saturday, December 7 at 4:30 p.m.
The public is invited to attend this free event, which will include holiday music, free hot chocolate and cookies, an appearance by Santa Claus and his elves. There will also be remarks from USS Constitution’s Commanding Officer, Nathaniel R. Shick.
“This year, as we reflect on our accomplishments and enjoy time with friends and family, we can think of no more fitting way to kick off the holiday season than celebrating together with the great people of Boston and our passionate supporters,” said Cmdr. Nathaniel R. Shick, USS Constitution’s 75th Commanding Officer.
Guests may begin boarding the ship for the ceremony at 3:45 p.m. and are invited to observe evening colors with the crew, during which, USS Constitution will fire her saluting battery at 4:12 p.m.
Following the ceremony, guests will be permitted to tour the ship until 6 p.m.
