Women in World Jazz Rocked the North End

Women in World Jazz sponsored by the Friends of the North End Branch Library recently heated up the North Bennet Street School atrium with their stylish renditions of jazz music from around the world.

Women in World Jazz

This quintet celebrated diversity with an eclectic music selection that tapped into a variety of cultures and eras. Their talent and enthusiasm were on display as they actively engaged the audience in the music, at one point even handing out rhythmic instruments for audience participants to stand up and join in the power of jazz. The music experience smoothly became an educational experience as an accompanying PowerPoint ran simultaneously to the music and put a face to the celebrated and mega talented women who performed with such originality and passion.

The Friends would like to thank the North Bennet Street School for their hospitality in hosting this event. Their beautifully renovated school is a perfect showcase for an afternoon of Jazz.

The Friends would also like to thank the City-Wide Friends of the Boston Public Library for their generous grant which enabled the North End Friends to sponsor this performance.
