After much success in its inaugural year, IDEA Boston, an Italian-inspired festival of books, authors, and culture organized by independent bookstore I AM Books, is returning November 1 and 2, 2019.
The festival will once again take place at the Dante Alighieri Cultural Center in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Each of the two days will feature an array of speakers and performances. One of the keynote speakers will be Italian author Edoardo Albinati, the 2016 winner of Italy’s most prestigious literary award, the Premio Strega, for his The Catholic School (Farrar, Strauss and Giroux, 2019).
Wrapping up the Friday portion will be a theatrical representation in Italian of Nobel Prize winner Luigi Pirandello’s La Giara (The Oil Jar). An art exhibit featuring 23 pictures included in From Italy to the North End will be open to the public throughout the festival. The conclusion of the festival on Saturday will feature a closing party with live music. See the schedule here.
I AM Books is a local, independent Italian bookstore located in the heart of the North End at 189 North Street. In addition to books, the shop also hosts lectures, concerts and Italian language courses!
