The North End Athletic Association (NEAA) girls softball program closed down their 2019 season with a last practice followed by a pizza party and awards ceremony. The girls, who worked very hard all spring under the tutelage of coach Chuck Bilikas, had a chance to get recognized for all their efforts. This is year two of the NEAA’s program and the girls grew by leaps and bounds this season. All girls received a medal signifying their hard work for the team. There were four individual awards given out as well. The individual awards went to:
Audrey Westphal of the Lady Cardinals for Best Attitude.
Emma Jae Reilly of the Lady Cubs for Best Leader.
Victoria DeMarco of the Lady Cardinals won the Hustle award.
Trinity Martignetti of the Lady Cardinals for the Best Teammate.
Best Leader award winner Emma Jae Reilly Hustle Award winner Victoria DeMarco. Best Teammate award winner Trinity Martignetti.
The girls enjoyed pizza, cupcakes, watermelon and lots of other tasty snacks courtesy of the NEAA and various parents who brought items to our party. Special thanks to coach Janine Martignetti who not only had perfect attendance this year, but also decorated our park with balloons and posters to help create a festive atmosphere.
Also special thanks to Carl Hall who volunteered his summer to help coach the girls. Carl also volunteers his weekends to help coach our 4 and 5 year olds.
We had a great year and look forward to more fun and growth next season!
