The annual Memorial Day flag garden with 37,000 miniature American flags is now in place on Boston Common honoring the sacrifices of all fallen Massachusetts service men and women dating back to the Revolutionary War. The public is welcome to view the flags that will be in place through sundown on Monday, May 28.
On Thursday, the Massachusetts Military Heroes Fund hosted a service at the Soldiers and Sailors Monument on Boston Common. The event included the reading of the names of Bay State service members who have died as a result of active duty post-Sept, 11, 2001. Photographer Gerri Palladino shares these photos from the event.
