11:30AM Cooking Demonstration at ABCD Neighborhood Service Center. Join the ABCD North End / West End Neighborhood Service Center at 1 Michelangelo Street for a fun and interactive cooking demonstration by Lovin’ Spoonfuls. They will be replicating a healthy, hearty meal of barley risotto with chicken and vegetables in our kitchen for all participants to enjoy lunch afterward, see additional details here.
1:00PM Friday Film Series: Blacklisted. Join the North End Library for their Friday film series featuring Hollywood directors and writers before and after the blacklist. This week’s film is Bridge on the River Kwai, see the full line up here.
6:00PM International Poetry Night, featuring Tino Villanueva. Stop by I AM Books at 189 North Street for an international night of poetry celebrating National Poetry Month. The evening will kick off with an open mic, welcoming poets to read in any language they prefer (a little explanation of poems in English will be appreciated!). The second half of the evening will be dedicated to the poetry of Tino Villanueva, with readings by the poet in English and Italian.

7:00AM Reconfiguration of Abstract Sculpture. A crane will lift, pull apart and reconfigure the two halves of the Abstract Sculpture, made of steel and aluminum, to create a new sculptural shape at the Armenian Heritage Park. The annual reconfiguration is symbolic of all who pulled away from their country of origin and came to these Massachusetts shores, establishing themselves in new and different ways, contributing to the richness of American life and culture,see additional details here.
10:00AM NEMPAC’s Perform-a-thon. Stop by the Improv Asylum for NEMPAC’s Perform-a-thon to raise money with the group’s annual pledge campaign, see additional details here.
1:00PM Shop & Nibble in the North End. Spend the afternoon, visiting neighborhood shops and tasting delicious bites from local restaurants!
