It was truly a marathon of music and song at the Improv Asylum for the annual Perform-a-thon to support the North End Music & Performing Arts Center and benefit NEMPAC’s music scholarships and educational programs. Held on Sunday, April 7th, at the Improv’s North End theater, the event featured four hours of non-stop student and instructor performances.
Spotlight performances highlighted NEMPAC programs such as the Eliot Band Program, Eliot Ensemble, Eliot Choir, Music Theatre Troupe, and Kids Music Theatre.
Performing students and instructors collected pledges for their performances, banding together to support the NEMPAC scholarship fund and educational programs. Pledges can still be made at https://nempacboston.org/performathon/
NEMPAC awards more than $7,500 each year in children’s need-based music scholarships, providing opportunities for over 20 children to participate in private lessons, after-school music classes, or to experience week-long intensive music camps during the summer.
The NEMPAC Performathon 2019 is generously supported by our Matching Sponsors including Core Properties Group, Bridget D’amore Scholarship Fund, North End Athletic Association, Eamon O’Marah, and Andrea & Arthur Waldstein. Thanks to the generosity of these sponsors, all student pledges raised will be matched up to $8,000. In addition, thanks to the Perform-a-thon event sponsors including the Improv Asylum, Manda & Me Catering, and the North End Grille, as well as over 50+ local businesses who have contributed to the raffle.
