Marathon Monday Brief: Parade Cancelled, Historic Landmarks Could Use More Love, Michlewitz TV

Today is Monday, April 15th – Patriots Day. Patriots’ Day is a state holiday in Maine and Massachusetts on the third Monday in April. Courts and the registry of motor vehicles will be closed, as well as public schools as part of spring break. In Boston, it is also Marathon Monday and One Boston Day. This is a citywide day of service and good will to honor those lost at the 2013 marathon bombings. What act of kindness will you do?

Boston’s historic landmarks could use more love

The Old North Church & Historic Site celebrated the annual Lantern Ceremony last week marking the 244th anniversary of the beginning of the American Revolution. The ceremony also shed some light on the $100 million maintenance backlog for the Boston National Historical Park and recent funding that has disappeared due to budget cuts, read more on the Boston Globe.
