Curator Tour: The Reasons Offsite

Join the curator for an in-depth look at the exhibition The Reasons Offsite with a walkthrough of the design solutions in a 3D reality environment.

About the curator
Tours will be given by Samuel Gonçalves, one of the three exhibition curators from SUMMARY architecture. SUMMARY is an architectural studio based in the Science and Technology Park of the University of Porto, Portugal. Seeking the balance between pragmatism and experimentalism, SUMMARY develops building systems assuming the optimization of time and physical resources as the core theme of its practice.

About the exhibition
The Reasons Offsite exhibition focuses on prefabricated and modular building systems, referred to throughout the exhibition as “offsite architecture”. The global population is rapidly moving toward cities, creating high demand for urban spaces to live and visit. There are currently 3 billion people living in cities, but the number is expected to rise to around 5 billion by 2030, with 2 billion living under the poverty line. This rapid urbanization challenges experts to define new strategies to accommodate this growth.
