Did you wake up to roses and heart-shaped chocolates on Valentine’s Day? Or perhaps you and your significant other didn’t have time for the holiday this year – Thursdays aren’t always the easiest day to make plans! Maybe instead you have a few great ideas lined up to treat yourself this Valentine’s Day. With Presidents’ Day weekend coming up, many of us will have an extra day or two to spread the love!

Shoplifters at the MFA Boston

Shoplifters is a film directed by Hirokazu Kore-eda. The film “follows a young father named Osamu who finds a little girl in the freezing cold after a shoplifting session with his son. At first reluctant to provide shelter to the girl, Osamu’s wife agrees to take care of her after learning of the hardships she faces.” This film is in Japanese with English subtitles.

The Office Trivia

Trivia at brunch? Almost as good as a fashion show at lunch! See if you know more than your friends about a show better than F.R.I.E.N.D.S. Clerys is hosting trivia brunch this Saturday for a low-key, weekend valentine’s date!

Sunday, February 17

Disney on Ice

Mickey Mouse is back at the TD Garden for another Disney on Ice adventure! Characters from Coco, Moana, Beauty and The Beast, Frozen, Toy Story, Aladdin, and The Little Mermaid will all make appearances in Mickey’s Search Party.

When: Sunday, February 17 at 11 a.m. or 3 p.m.

Monday, February 18 (Presidents’ Day)

Free Admission to the ICA

The Institute of Contemporary Art (ICA) is offering free admission on Presidents’ Day. Free, timed tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis. From the ICA: “Timed tickets are required on Presidents’ Day, Feb 18, and through Feb 21, to ensure an enjoyable experience for all. Tickets will be available on-site only on a first-come, first-served basis. Non-member tickets are limited, and we recommend arriving early to secure tickets.”

Bonus: Children’s Winter Festival 2019

The City of Boston is offering a free Winter Festival for children at the Boston Common. Attractions include a 45-foot-long toboggan tunnel mountainous adventure with twin roller lanes, the 30-foot-high inflatable Everest Climb-N-Slide, a Ski Lift photo op, and more.
