North End Resident to Run Boston Marathon to Support Braille Literacy

Joe Quintanilia of NBP and Erin Connors

Erin Connors of Boston’s North End will run the 2019 Boston Marathon as one of two individuals representing the National Braille Press (NBP).

Raised in Newburyport, MA, Connors ran the Boston Marathon for NBP in 2013, and was only half a mile from the finish line when she had to stop due to the Marathon bombing.

Connors worked in the blind community after college as a clinical research coordinator. She said in a statement: “Everyday NBP gives blind individuals the power to access educational and other resources to help shape their lives. I run to support this important work.”

Connors will fundraise for NBP with her teammate, William Flynn. Visit their fundraising page here.
