North End Resident Joins PMC Winter Cycle to Raise Money for Cancer Research

Ashley Kelley and her father, Warren Kelley.

North End resident Ashley Kelley will be riding her first PMC Winter Cycle on Saturday, January 26, to raise money for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, where her father is currently undergoing treatment.

The Pan-Mass Challenge (PMC) Winter Cycle is an indoor spinning event at Fenway Park that kickstarts the annual PMC fundraising campaign. Over 1,000 people will participate in the six 45-minute rides, in hopes of meeting the event’s fundraising goal of $500,000.

Ashley’s motivation to ride is driven by the care her father and their family have received at Dana-Farber and her hopes for future cancer patients.

“I PMC so researchers can keep pushing forward and so that maybe one day, there will be treatment options that do not make patients sick. Ultimately, we all PMC toward a day when no one requires cancer treatment at all.”
