Two students from the Eliot School in the North End presented their award winning essays at the 37th Annual Martin Luther King Celebration last Thursday at the Strand Theater in Dorchester.
Sapna from Grade 2 read her essay, inspired by Dr. King, about being kind and respectful to create an inclusive community. Adam from Grade 6 read his essay about affordable housing in Boston and what he believes Dr. King would say about housing if he were here today. Adam’s essay was awarded third place by King Boston, a privately funded non-profit working to create programming and a new MLK memorial in Boston.
