North End Friends of St. Francis House Winter Hat & Glove Collection a Huge Success

The North End Friends of St. Francis House once again held a collection of winter hats and gloves to help the homeless shelter guests keep warm this winter.

The drive, spearheaded by Olivia Scimeca, was run in conjunction with the Greenway Realty Group at 155 Endicott Street. Thanks to the generosity of many individuals and business people in the North End, along with North End Against Drugs, the Friends were able to donate approximately 400 pairs of gloves, 85 hats, 8 packs of basketball socks and 4 packages of underwear.

“We are extremely grateful to all of our friends in the North End for participating again this year,” stated Olivia.

“We hope we helped just a little in the battle to keep homeless people warm this winter,” added John Romano.

The Homeless Shelter is located at 39 Boylston Street in Downtown Boston and will continue to collect gloves and hats throughout the winter if you want to stop by and drop off an additional donation.
