I AM Books, the first Italian-American book store in the country, will be featured on The Watertown Massachusetts Cable Access program Drawing With Fred.
The popular establishment, located in the North End, was co-founded by journalist Nicola Orichuia who becomes a cartoon character in an original water safety tip. The episode, which airs during the month of October, also features Popeye films dubbed in Italian.
The sailor man is known in Italy as Braccio Di Ferro where he has been popular for decades spawning hundreds of comic books. Recently La Gazzetta dello Sport published sixty beautiful volumes featuring Popeye’s newspaper adventures from the 1930’s and 40’s along with biographical information.
Drawing With Fred is hosted by writer and cartoonist, Fred M. Grandinetti and his program has won three CONTI awards for excellence in cable access programming.
