Police Blotter: Two Residential Breaking & Entering Incidents

The following are recent incidents reported by Boston Police District A-1 for the North End / Waterfront area.

Attempted Breaking & Entering / Residence
07/29/18     2:30am
Victim reports an unknown male suspect was buzzing the bell and then began kicking the door to her Greenough Lane residence. The victim in the morning observed damage to the door frame. Suspect didn’t gain entry into the building.

Burglary / Residential
07/25/18     12:00 a.m. – 9:30 a.m.
Victim reports an unknown male suspect caught on a neighbor’s video made entry into her Cleveland Place apartment through a living room window. The window screen was removed, then replaced by the suspect. The suspect stole the victim’s purse off of the kitchen counter. The suspect stole rings, U.S. currency, bank/credit cards and an I-Pad from the victim. Detectives to follow up on the incident and the video footage.

  1. Do you seriously expect the Area A1 police to be patrolling small streets like Greenough Lane and Cleveland Pl in the wee hours of the morning in anticipation of some desperate drug addict breaking into an apartment?

  2. The first report sounds like there is more to the story.Burgularls generally do not ring someones buzzer and try and kick in a door at 2:30 AM.

      1. It’s okay for some drunk to come pounding on, or kicking somebody’s door in at 2:30 a. m., just because they did so by mistake? Sorry, but I don’t.
