North End Against Drugs (NEAD) awarded 25 scholarships this year as part of the Ray and Michelina Costa Scholarship Fund Program.
Seven $500 scholarships were given to students attending tuition-based schools and eighteen $100 Staples gift cards were given to students attending public school. Scholarships were given to students in various grades from grammar school to college.
NEAD is extremely grateful to those who donated scholarships again this year: Taste of the North End – Donato Frattarolli, Carla Gomez, Anonymous, North End/Waterfront.com, Boston Police Athletic League, Eversource – through NEAD annual grant.
NEAD would also like to thank Pizzeria Regina, who donated pizza for all the scholarship winners and their families, as well as for the participants of the dance show put on by the Nazzaro Center children. North End Against Drugs feels that education is a great part of keeping our children headed on the right path and helps to keep them out of harms way. We are extremely excited about being able to offer these awards, with help through our generous sponsors, to these 25 students.
