Tour Boston Harbor with the Friends of the Harborwalk

On Saturday, May 19, from 10 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., join the Friends of the Boston Harborwalk to crisscross the harbor and learn about recreational boating—from weekly sailboat racing and sailing courses for individuals of all abilities, to living on a boat year-round or staying in a floating bed and breakfast.

The tour begins at the Boston Sailing Center, 54 Lewis Wharf in the North End. From there, participants will board the Patrick T. Kennedy UB88, a restored former U.S. Navy utility vessel commanded by Captain Tim Gover.  He will ferry tour participants to Piers Park Sailing Center in East Boston, then onto the Courageous Sailing Center on Charlestown’s Pier 4.  A short walk to the nearby Constitution Marina will follow.

Space is limited; tickets are $10 each. Sign up here: https://recreationalboatingtour.eventbrite.com

The Friends of the Boston Harborwalk is a volunteer organization, affiliated with Boston Harbor Now, that regularly hosts tours and other events along Boston’s 43-mile Harborwalk. The group’s mission is to promote greater awareness and public enjoyment of the Boston Harborwalk.

  1. How about making the area of the Harbor Walk, behind 280 Congress and the Intercontinental Hotel, a no smoking zone. People go there to smoke, as families are trying to enjoy the fresh air.
