Marathon Daffodils is celebrating its fifth year lining the Boston marathon route!
Marathon Daffodils planted over 130,000 daffodil bulbs with the help of amazing volunteers along the 26.2 mile route from Hopkinton to Boston in 2015. Mother Nature has cooperated, and those bulbs have multiplied and are ready to bloom on Marathon Day 2018 weekend.
Marathon Daffodils distributes thousands of potted blooming daffodil plants along Newbury Street, Boylston Street, places along Arlington to Massachusetts Avenue, Copley Square, The Prudential Center, Charles Street, Christopher Columbus Park, City Hall, Boston Police and Fire Departments, and at the Boston hospitals, in our effort to beautify the Boston Marathon Finish Line area, our city, and at the headquarters of first responders and at health care facilities.
Last year, a professional documentary filmmaker followed the path of these flowers, telling the story of Marathon Daffodils and this remarkable effort of donors and volunteers. Our goal is to provide this living symbol of Spring and Hope for this traditional Boston event that now respectfully honors the essence of Boston Strong.
