All Summer long, the people of Boston have enjoyed cooling off at the Mirabella Pool in the North End. However, as Summer comes to a close, so must the public pool located off of Commercial Street.
The last day to jump in the pool, swim some laps, or tan at the pool is Monday, September 4th, 2017. Just one day before the pool closes there will be a cookout to send the season off with a party! On September 3rd, — changed to September 2nd due to weather forecast —, pool members will be treated to free hamburgers, hot dogs, and other cookout food!
With the season ending, it is worth noting that around 7500 people registered for a pool pass this Summer. This proves that the Mirabella Pool is a staple to the North End / Waterfront communities and to other communities nearby.
Some pool goers have noticed an increased presence of homelessness this summer on 311. At several community meetings this Summer, residents have brought up the homeless people that station themselves behind the pool. On numerous occasions these people are escorted off the premises, but return back to the pool shortly after they are removed.
You only have a couple more days to enjoy the Mirabella Pool’s cold, refreshing water! Make sure you get a swim or two in before it is too late!
