6:30pm FOCCP Meeting. All are welcome to attend the Friends of Christopher Columbus Park monthly meetings, where we plan upcoming events and recap recent Park news. Meetings take place at the Mariner’s House, 11 North Square in the North End.

If you’re a frequent MBTA rider, you’ve probably seen some interesting sights on the train. Yesterday afternoon, a woman spotted a man holding an approximately 4-foot-long snake on the red line! The Boston Globe has the full story with photos.

3:00pm Coloring in the Courtyard at North End Library. Discover the therapeutic benefits of coloring! Relax, reduce stress, and leave feeling restored. Coloring books and supplies will be provided, but participants are welcome to bring their own materials from home. Located at 25 Parmenter Street.
5:30pm Croquet on the West Lawn of Christopher Columbus Park. Croquet on the West Lawn of Christopher Columbus Park. The fun starts at 5:30 – 7:30pm. Free and open to all!
6:00pm Michelle McPhee: Maximum Harm. Emmy-nominated investigative reporter and award-winning journalist Michele McPhee, who has spent two decades covering terrorism, murder, mobsters, and corruption will discuss her book, Maximum Harm, examining the Boston Marathon bombers. The talk will take place at I AM Books, 189 North Street, Boston.
6:30pm Next Level Fitness Bootcamp. Located at Hanover Street and Cross Street, get fit and stay healthy every week during the summer with Next Level Fitness!
6:30pm Friends of the North End Library Meeting. Meetings are the second Wednesday of each month at the back of the library, located at 25 Parmenter Street.
7:00pm North End Movie Night w/Pizza! at the Gassy, DeFilippo Playground. The fun runs through August 30th, every Wednesday night at the Gassy (Prince Street Park). Pizza at 7pm and movie at dark. Free, all are welcome! This week’s film: Grease.
Thursday, August 10
10:00am Kids Artist in Residence Workshop at Christopher Columbus Park. The Boston Parks and Recreation Department’s annual ParkARTS program, sponsored by Holly and David Bruce, is pleased to announce the return of its series of children’s arts workshops. Participation is free but young children must be accompanied by an adult.
12:00pm Recruiting Sessions: TSA Boston is Hiring – West End Branch Library, Cambridge St. Located at 151 Cambridge St, Boston. Recruiting Sessions: TSA Boston Is Hiring– Join us at this Recruiting Session to learn about career opportunities in a fast-paced dynamic environment with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) at Boston Logan International Airport. 1:00pm NEAD Arts & Crafts at Mirabella Pool. Located at 475 Commercial Street, North End Against Drugs will offer free Arts and Crafts Programs to the youth of the North End. A different craft will be offered each week as well as gymp and pot holder making.
5:00pm NEAD Benefit at JOI Salon. The Joi Salon on Lewis Wharf (2 Atlantic Avenue) is running a fundraiser for North End Against Drugs from 5pm – 8pm. There will be free light fare, raffles, etc. Stop by and treat yourself to some very inexpensive indulgences at the Salon and support NEAD’s programs.
5:30pm Boston Workplace Fitness. Cresa Boston would like to bring together employees in nearby offices to The Greenway to participate in a fitness program promoting wellness in the workplace. Located at Milk Street & Atlantic Avenue.
