7:00pm Christmas in July at North End Movie Night w/Pizza! at the Gassy, DeFilippo Playground. Pizza is at 7pm and movie at dark. The event is free, all are welcome! More information.

The pedestrian buttons at crosswalks? They don’t actually do anything.
Pedestrians patiently wait at cross walks for the lights to turn and grant them their walking signal, others jaywalk, while some press the walk button several times. Yet, by design, in the vast majority of downtown neighborhoods, doesn’t actually do anything. In areas like the North End the city sets most traffic signals, The Boston Globe has the full rundown.
USS Constitution is almost home
After 26 months of being dry docked, work is being finished on the USS Constitution as it enters the final phase of its restoration. Known as “Old Ironsides” the project was estimated to cost between $12 million and $15 million, and come September, it’ll be back open to the public for tours, continue reading at, The Boston Globe.

10:00am Mah Jongg Drop-in at the North End Library. Friends of the North End Library invite you to drop in anytime between 10am and 2pm for Mah Jongg games at 25 Parmenter Street.
1:00pm NEAD Arts & Crafts at Mirabella Pool. North End Against Drugs will offer free Arts and Crafts Programs to the youth of the North End outside the concession stand at the Mirabella Pool every Thursday through August 10th from 1pm to 4pm.
5:30pm NEMPAC Summer Concert Series on the Prado. Located at the Paul Revere Mall, this is free and open to the public! This week’s performance features REVMA – Authentic Greek Roots Music. Read full artist descriptions and find full details at www.nempacboston.org.

6:00pm Govt Ctr Garage Redevelopment IAG Meeting at City Hall, 9th Floor. Impact Advisory Group (IAG) meeting to discuss the Notice of Project Change (NPC) which proposes to decrease the total number of residential units from 486 units to 423 units by converting 118 of the apartment units previously planned on the upper eleven floors of the building to approximately 55 condominium units.

12:00pm NEMPAC Broadway Bootcamp FREE Performance at Improv Asylum. NEMPAC’s Teen Theater Troupe presents their “Broadway Bootcamp – Hamilton to Matilda!” final performance at the Improv Asylum on July 28th! Located at 216 Hanover Street.
1:00pm La La Land Movie at North End Library, 25 Parmenter St. Enjoy musicals old and new followed by discussion, feel free to bring your lunch, view the event posting.
1:00pm #PictureQuincyMarket – Social Photography Workshop at Quincy Market. Learn to take your Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook photography to the next level with three lunchtime workshops taught by staff from Artists for Humanity. Space is limited, so please pre-register!
6:00pm Friday Afternoon Concert Series. Fridays in July and August, this concert series will showcase local music, located at Sam Adams Park.
8:00pm Outdoor Movie: “The Little Mermaid” at Rowes Wharf, Boston Harbor Hotel. A mermaid princess makes a Faustian bargain with an unscrupulous sea-witch in order to meet a human prince on land, the movie starts at dusk.
