Boston Community Collaborative is thrilled that it’s North End Movie Nights are off to a fabulous start! Movies are shown on the white part of the Italian Flag on the wall of Prince Street Park/Defilippo Playground/The Gassy. Activities start at about 6, Regina Pizza comes at 7 and movies are shown at “dark o’clock’. This lovely community event is free – all are welcome.
Week one saw us move the fun indoors to the Nazarro Center gymnasium due to crazy rain. The rain did not dampen anyone’s spirits and we had a great time. Thank you to Carl Ameno and Bruce for accommodating us.
Week two saw us at the Gassy for a beautiful weather evening. It is so great to see friends and neighbors old and new gather for this community event. Janine Martignetti gets the MVP award for the evening for running home for a bucket of white paint and step stool – she touched up the many bare spots on the wall making for a better movie experience for us all!
Next week we will show “Home Alone” for Christmas in July. If you’d like to participate in the gift exchange, please bring a wrapped gift, less than $10. If you bring one, you can take one.
Week four will see us as part of North End Against Drug’s Family Fun Festival and we will show Napoleon Dynamite.
This year’s movie nights have been generously sponsored by Northendboston.com, MSA Mortgage, Pilgrim Parking, City Councilor Candidate Stephen Passacantilli, State Senator Joe Boncore, State Representative Aaron Michlewitz, Pizzeria Regina, Boston Community Collaborative, and Denison Builders.
I dont know who selects the music for movie night but wow, how inappropriate! Young children , mostly about 4-7 and every song was sexually suggestive. Very disturbing.
I think the movies are picked perfectly. You can not please everyone!
