The Nazzaro Center Youth Program took to the streets on Friday to fulfill their “Boston Shines / Love Your Block” commitments, an annual undertaking by the center.
Although the official “Love Your Block” date was the following day, most of the youth were scheduled to participate in the opening day of NEAA baseball that Saturday so they bumped up their community duty by one day. In fact, they chose to double down by concentrating their clean-up on the Little League field (and surrounding grounds) where they would be playing the following morning.
The final results ensured a clean plate, scrubbed out dugouts and a sparkling, shiny diamond for Opening Day. Special thanks to North End neighborhood liaison Maria Lanza for providing all the clean-up material one day early.
