4:00pm Dog Licensing and Rabies Clinic at Nazzaro Center [30 N Bennet St, Boston, MA]. Licensing and Rabies low cost clinic. In order to use the new dog park this summer you will need to have your dog licensed! You can do this online or come on April 25th.

7:00pm Zoning, Licensing & Construction Committee Meeting (NEWRA) at the Mariner’s House, 11 North Square, 2nd Floor. The Zoning, Licensing & Construction Committee of the North End / Waterfront Residents’ Association (NEWRA) meets on the fourth Tuesday of the month, all are welcome to attend.

‘Make Way for Bike Lanes’ demands better bike safety in downtown Boston

Citing a lack of bike lanes and bike safety around the city, bicyclists protested and called for parking-protected bike lanes in the network of streets surrounding Boston Common. JetBlue really, really wants to fly between Boston and Cuba

After already being denied twice, JetBlue is once again asking the US Department of Transportation for permission to run a direct flight between Boston and Havana, Cuba. If approved, the flights would begin in November and would run on Saturdays, The Boston Globe has the full story.

6:00pm Olivia Kate Cerrone – The Hunger Saint. The Hunger Saint (Bordighera Press 2017) is a historical novella about a young boy’s survival from the sulfur mines of rural Sicily. Set in post WWII-era Italy, this book reflects upon the religious, cultural, social and economic factors that helped normalize the practice of child labor abuse in Italy. Located at I AM Books, 189 North Street.

Teachers are Taking on Haiti Fundraiser at Bell in Hand on May 12th. For a week this August, I will be traveling with 2 other teachers to Grand-Goâve, Haiti to build a house and volunteer at a local orphanage. We are proud to be doing this as part of The Be Like Brit Foundation. Our first fundraiser will be held at the Bell in Hand Tavern, located at 45 Union Street, more information.

Registration for Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk. Registration is open for the 29th annual Boston Marathon® Jimmy Fund Walk presented by Hyundai®, the nation’s most successful single-day fundraising walk. Scheduled for Sunday, September 24, 2017, the fundraiser supports adult and pediatric patient care and cancer research at the nation’s premier cancer center, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Register at www.JimmyFundWalk.org.
