
It is that time of year, to “Spring Ahead” by switching to Daylight Saving Time (and lose one hour of sleep). The official change is at 2 a.m. on Sunday, March 12, 2017 when the correct time will be 3 a.m.
Public safety officials recommend using the daylight saving change as a reminder to replace batteries in smoke and carbon-monoxide detectors.
Daylight Saving Time lasts from the second Sunday of March to the first Sunday in November.
