Sephora recently opened its doors at Faneuil Hall Marketplace where the new retailer is housed in a 5,670-square-foot glass pavilion at the site of the former flower shop. Many spectators came down to Faneuil Hall Marketplace to witness the official ribbon cutting with architect Howard Elkus, Faneuil Hall Marketplace General Manager Joe O’Malley, Sephora General Manager Richie Rodriguez and several Sephora employees to signify the store’s grand opening.
The Faneuil Hall Marketplace location is the company’s 407th location in North America. Store Director Richie Rodriguez described the store’s design as resembling a leaf falling into Faneuil Hall in honor of the former greenhouse that was built when the Marketplace was reopened in 1976. “It’s a very unique structure and the first of this style for a Sephora story,” he said.
Richie also said that Sephora is thrilled to be located in Faneuil Hall Marketplace, “there is such a rich history here and there is so much excitement being in this very busy top tourist destination.”
Richie says that their customers come from all over the world including China, Sweden, France and Canada and from around the corner too. “Many locals or people that just work in the area and live in the suburbs stop in on their lunch hour. Of course being in one of the biggest tourist destinations, we have a large number of tourist clients.”
One of the best things about having a new Sephora store at Faneuil Hall Marketplace, are the complimentary services at its Beauty Studio and Skin Studio. They also offer free makeup classes twice a week with the schedule online at www.sephora.com.
